09/05/2024 - The real rally is coming to Coimbra, in an event that takes place from May 9th to 12th and covers around 335.26 kilometres, between the district of Coimbra and the north of the country.
The 2024 Vodafone Rally de Portugal is preparing to welcome the world's best drivers, starting in Coimbra.
This year's edition has 22 sections through the city, covering around 335.26 kilometres.
The City Council of Coimbra is once again supporting the event, and on 9th May, the Vodafone Rally de Portugal 2024 will set off from the left bank of the Mondego for a gruelling race that will end on 12th May in the north of the country. The ceremonial start will take place next to Praça das Cortes, on Avenida Conimbriga, and as usual it is expected that curiosity will lead many fans of the sport to come and see the machines and drivers up close.
Thus, on the 9th, from 2.30pm to 4pm, the lorries with the racing cars are scheduled to arrive and stay inside the Coimbra University Stadium. Between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, autograph sessions will take place in the garden next to the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha, and from 4.30pm to 4.40pm it's time for the long-awaited photo opportunity with the drivers. After the national anthem has been sung, the start ceremony will begin at 5pm, and so begins the biggest race on the national motoring calendar!
