16.2.2023-Carnival has arrived in Coimbra, and it is full of samba and joy. From the 18th and 19th of February in Praça do Comércio, a great and unique programme awaits you. 

Carnival Coimbra 2023 promises to bring a lot of festivity to the heart of the city. The event takes place over the weekend of the 18th and 19th of February in Praça do Comércio and has a diversified programme, aimed at all audiences and free of charge. 

You will be able to watch the "Bloco do Beco" parade, a movement that began in 2020, when a group of friends, the "Grupo do Beco", held a Carnival parade that brought together about 10,000 people in the city streets. Samba, drums, and joy will not be missing. You can see them on Saturday, 18th (starting at 4pm), and Sunday, 19th (starting at 3pm), on a route that starts at Praça do Comércio, passes through Praça 8 de Maio and Largo da Portagem, and returns to Praça do Comércio.  

At the end of the parades, you can still enjoy musical performances.
