2.9.2021-Time Magazine has distinguished the city of Coimbra as one of the best places in the world in 2021, highlighting the University of Coimbra, founded in 1290, in the supplement "THE WORLD'S GREATEST PLACES OF 2021". 

The city of Coimbra was distinguished and elected as one of the 100 best destinations worldwide that should be explored, in the list available at the website https://time.com/collection/worlds-greatest-places-2021.  

The city is on the page with the list of places to visit and is presented through an image of the Patio of Schools at the University of Coimbra. When clicking on Coimbra, journalist Tamara Hardingham-Gill considers Coimbra as a place requiring "Fresh Claims to Fame".
