20.10.2022-Portugal was considered the Best Destination in Europe in the World Travel Awards 2022, for the fifth consecutive year.

Having Portugal in their passport as a destination is increasingly the desire of European tourists! The "Oscars of tourism" were awarded at the ceremony of the World Travel Awards 2022  on this 1^st of October.

After the difficult years of the pandemic, Portugal won for the 5th consecutive year the international recognition in the tourism industry receiving the title of Best European Tourist Destination.

In total, Portugal won 30 awards. Lisbon, Porto, Algarve and Azores are among the winners.

Among the regional destinations, the Azores (Europe's Leading Adventure Tourism Destination), Algarve (Europe's Leading Beach Destination), Lisbon (Europe's Leading City Break Destination, Europe's Leading Cruise Destination and Europe's Leading Seaside Metropolitan Destination) and Porto (Europe's Leading City Destination) stand out.
