27/04/2023 - The comedian, presenter and Scottish writer, Phil Kay in a show of stand-up comedy unpublished, in one of the most traditional café-restaurants in the city of Coimbra.
Typical Scottish and wild, Phil Kay was a pioneer in the art of telling outrageous and true stories and being in the moment on stage.
And stories, stories there are many: 'The worst stage in the world'... 'Crawling away from the police'... 'Primal Scream threatened my little dog'...
Phil first tasted stage success when he was named the winner of the 'So You Think You're Funny...' contest at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1989. Also the year he began his acting career, 1989 would be the first year of many that was filled with awards and recognition. He was later nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award in 1993. In 1994, Kay won the Best Stand Up Award at the British Comedy Awards.
Come hear the adventures of a very creative comedian, a man from whom the words just flow in a torrent of comic awareness.
This is a rare opportunity to see the Scottish legend in Europe.
The show will be entirely in English.
The Café Santa Cruz is located at 8 de Maio square.
Doors open at 8:30 pm, and the show starts at 9 pm.
