8.12.2022-The Erasmus Student Network celebrates the agreement reached between the European Parliament and the Council on the EU budget for 2023

The significant role that Erasmus+ has come to perform it’s as one of the best expressions of how the European Union can make a difference to the lives of its citizens, while having a significant impact beyond our borders.

Members of the European ou Parliament MEPs have fought and won better support for an EU budget for 2023 that addressed the consequences of the war in Ukraine, Energy and Climate and the pandemic recovery process more effectively.

Among the achievement was the increased support of 120m for Erasmus+. This addition to the budget will help to fund thousands more mobilities given the rising inflation, it is crucial to use the new funds to adjust Erasmus+ scholarships to increase inflation thus to avoid reducing the purchasing power of Erasmus+ students.
