The celebrations of the city of Coimbra and Queen Saint Isabel 2022 Festivities have already started, this year taking place between the 1st and 10th of July.  

The celebrations of the city of Coimbra and Queen Saint Isabel Festivities 2022 have already started, this year taking place between the 1st and 10th of July, with a program that includes nine musical performances, multiple cultural and sports events, three fireworks sessions and two religious’ processions, among many other initiatives. 

The concerts, to be held in the Jardim da Sereia, at 9:30 pm, and with free admission, reinforce, once again, Coimbra's status as a city of reference in the staging of outdoor musical events. In addition to the concerts, there is a multiplicity of cultural and sporting events that make up the complete program of the City Festivities. 

In terms of sports, the program confirms Coimbra's entry in the route of major international events, by hosting the World Endurance Championship and the Iberian Kayak Polo League. 

Suspended in recent editions due to the constraints caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Penitence Procession and the Solemn Procession will take place on the 7th and 10th of July, respectively, gathering thousands of people on the route between the two sides of the Mondego River. 

The program of the City of Coimbra and Queen Saint Isabel Festivities also includes three fireworks shows on the 3rd, 7th, and 9th of July, festive lighting on the city's main streets, the Popular Fair - to be held in Praça da Canção -, as well as a diversified program of guided tours.
