16.01.25 - The electronic travel authorization (ETA) has been launched in the UK. Travelers from more than 90 countries will be affected from 2024.
The UK government has introduced a fully digitalized border control and immigration system, as the electronic travel authorization (ETA) will come into force in 2025.
The new digital entry requirement (ETA) requires anyone visiting the UK from a short-stay visa waiver country, except British and Irish citizens, to obtain permission to travel in advance via an ETA or an eVisa.

Non-European travelers need an ETA as of January 8, 2025
European travelers need authorization from April 2, 2025.
What is the UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)?
The ETA offers similar permissions to the normal visitor visa in the UK. It is required
