27/06/2024 - At the end of May 2024, the Government of Portugal and the Portuguese Parliament approved extended housing support for displaced students without a scholarship!

Last May, at the Council of Ministers dedicated to youth, the government approved a measure that will allow displaced university students and non-bursary students to receive around 50% of the accommodation supplement, provided that their household's per capita income does not exceed €14,259.28 per year, the equivalent of 28 times the Social Support Index (IAS), currently set at €509.26.

Young people who are awarded a scholarship already receive this support, but this time Parliament has approved, in general terms, a bill from the PS (Socialist Party) that aims precisely to extend the universe of beneficiaries of this supplement.

In addition to extending the payment of this supplement to accommodation, the government led by Luís Montenegro (current Prime Minister of Portugal) also announced a reinforcement of the supply of beds for students, using the installed capacity of the Youth Hostels and INATEL. These protocols will increase the number of beds available by 709 beds.

In addition to this number of accommodation options, there are also groups such as StudentVille, whose price/quality offer is year after year among the best in the cities in which it offers accommodation, as well as the increasing partnerships with the various universities and colleges in those same cities, such as Coimbra and Lisbon.
