29-10-2020 Tests can be taken at random, without being compulsory, for students or staff. 

The University of Coimbra (UC) has developed a random screening program for covid-19 disease, involving the collection of about 100 samples per day (2000 persons/month). Students and workers will be called (through an email) to go to the pre-defined collection sites. Screening is not mandatory but is strongly recommended by the UC. 

This is one of the measures included in the Prevention Plan and Protocol of Action, prepared by the UC. This plan defines the measures to prevent, contain, and mitigate the risks associated with the spread of covid-19 and is already being implemented.
